Pip and Richard

Pip and Richard’s wedding certainly had a really glamorous ‘red carpet’ feel to the day!!  A black and white theme with added ‘Glitz’ with a fabulous alternative colour scheme ( a total change from vintage dusky pinks)… that I loved!! The wedding took place at the majestic Southwell Minster with celebrations afterwards at  Langar Hall.

Phillipa was looking for quite a formal, traditional wedding ceremony at The Minster, and her flower choice here was simple, understated and elegant white freesia, for both her and her maids. I’m sure you’ll all agree they look super.

Thank you Sarah at Mirror Imaging for these stunning photos.

Lexy and Chris

After a busy summer here at Akito, and a lapse in sharing beautiful wedding memories with you, I’m now back on it…and looking forward to bringing you some gorgeous images of the lovely couples and fabulous weddings I’ve had the privelige to be a part of this year. Starting with my first couple of the season…..Thank you to Ben at hba photography for the stunning images.

Lexy and Chris held their wedding in the beautiful, intimate surroundings of the Old Vicarage Boutique Hotel in Southwell on a glorious sunny day in March. A day, which to be honest, felt more like mid summer!

The floral dream: A colour palette of blush, peach and ivory for Lexy and her maid, ”baby’s breath” for the cutest flower girl, Mia and simple, pretty understated table centrepieces and chair ends for the ceremony and wedding breakfast.

The recipe for Lexy’s romantic bouquet included the most exquisite, scented, ‘Juliet’, David Austin roses, delicious, pale blush Ranunculus, pink hypericum berries, lisianthus and a sprinkle of Gypsophila.

And last but not least an extra special buttonhole for the ‘Man of the day’, groom, Chris…rockin’ the look!

Just a few little mentions to some of the amazing suppliers for helping in creating such a magical day for Lexy and Chris….”Thank you guys, we couldn’t have done it without your help and support”………….

Catherine and Phil

It may have been a dull and damp September day for Catherine and Phil when they wed in the village church at Farndon, but their bright blooms in shades of coral, plum and purple, certainly added a splash of colour to the day.

Catherine wanted to incorporate Dahlias throughout all of the bouquets and floral arrangements in memory of her dear Grandad. He used to grow them in abundance in his garden. They are such a lovely flower to use, with their vibrant  and intense colour they certainly add a wow, to any arrangement.

The whole day was beautifully captured by Nottinghamshire photographer Chris Snowden. Thank you Chris for your permission to share these lovely images.

The Boathouse  (another fabulous Nottinghamshire venue), sits peacefully by the side of the River Trent,  it looked amazing dressed in all of the colourful blooms. We used several small cocktail glasses , full of beautiful flowers, along the length of each guest table, to form bright and stunning floral centrepieces.

How lucky were the wedding guests? Two stunning cakes to choose from…both made by Catherine’s very talented mum!

Thank you Catherine and Phil for allowing me to be a part of your special day!

Hannah and Richard

I first met Hannah and Richard, two years ago, when they were just starting out on their journey making plans for their special day.  From the outset their colours and flower choice never wavered, dusky pinks, lots of roses and tall candelabra centrepieces. They did, however take time to discover their perfect venue. They were so excited to find the ‘beautiful and tranquil’ Shottle Hall, set in the breathtaking Derbyshire countryside, with the most beautiful views across the hills.

Fenning Brown Photography based in Ravenshead, (which I’m sure you’ll agree) created many truly memorable moments of their day.

Catherine and David

Another stunner!! Cool ice blue and white flowers for Catherine and David’s July wedding last summer. They weren’t to know it…but…the day turned out  to be an absolute scorcher!! The flowers lent a cool elegance to the whole day.Catherine n David 230716The day started early, with the delivery of bouquets to Catherine, spending the morning at her mum’s home in Mapperley. Ashleigh Turner was already there, when I arrived, creating a fabulous, soft ‘up do’ for the beautiful, happy and relaxed bride.CatherineDave0080aaaaaThen…a short drive in to Nottingham City Centre where David, was eagerly awaiting the delivery of the buttonholes at the St. James’s Hotel,  before he and his men took a leisurely walk up to the magnificent Cathedral of St. Barnabas.

Finally, a picturesque drive over to the little village of Sutton Bonington to dress Sutton Bonington Hall, another new and undiscovered venue for me. The Hall, a Grade 2 Queen Anne Country property, sits in the heart of this quaint village surrounded by a superb landscaped garden (ideal for those all important photo opportunities). Just the perfect choice for this lovely couple.Catherine and David Sutton-Bonington-Hall-wedding-photographer-34Catherine wore a beautiful Ronald Joyce dress from 7th Heaven Bridal and carried a stunning bouquet of white and ice blue cottage garden flowers.CatherineDave0784CatherineDave0795CatherineDave0797Catherine and David Sutton-Bonington-Hall-wedding-photographer-63Centrepieces of pure white blowsy Hydrangeas in large glass cubes, were all that were needed to add a simple elegant statement to the wedding breakfast.CatherineDave0493CatherineDave0488CatherineDave0462Catherine and David sutton-bonington-hall-wedding-photography_0108David and Catherine Sutton BoningtonHallThank you to Mr and Mrs Cawley,  J.S.Coates and Roo Stain for sharing stunning images of a most memorable day.
