Katie and James

August 30th 2014

My first meeting with Katie and James was held at Katie’s mum and dad’s home, an excellent choice for our initial chat, as it was to be the ‘venue’ for their big day, complete with a marquee.

My first delivery on the morning was to mum and dad’s, to deliver the bouquets and two large urn arrangements for the garden.

Next stop ‘The Orangery’ at Newstead Abbey to dress the aisle chairs with hessian and lace sashes and beautiful scented posies of cottage garden flowers. These were transferred after the ceremony and used in enamel jugs as centrepieces dotted around the bar area in the marquee.

Katie had originally decided upon a simple, just picked, hand tied bouquet for herself, with smaller posies for her three bridesmaids’. With only a few weeks to go,  Katie was given a book of ‘vintage’ bouquets. There were two designs that Katie absolutely loved, so we decided to combine the two. The result was a stunning hand tied bouquet with blooms in soft pinks, lilac, peach and ivory with a few silver grey foliage ‘trails’.

And finally I couldn’t resist introducing you to ‘Tracey’ the resident pure white peacock at Newstead it was great to see him and get these great pictures of him  as I was setting up in The Orangery. I hope to see him in the future displaying his fully grown tail, I bet he’ll look spectacular.
