Rosanna and Steven

The beautiful and quaint Country Cottage Hotel in Ruddington was the ideal setting for Rosanna and Steven’s relaxed wedding celebrations in July.

Stunning memories of their special day, beautifully captured by the very talented Kathryn Edwards, Thank you!

This fabulous, fun loving couple wanted to ‘bring the outside in’, as a reflection of their love of the great outdoors and to echo the secluded garden that nestles behind The Country Cottage Hotel. Enamel jugs and jam jars all dressed with lace, and full to overflowing with pretty delicate blooms, certainly brought an essence of the quintessential summer garden to the celebrations.

The bride wore a beautiful Kenneth Winston lace gown from Dream Wedding Dress in Nottingham and Nicola Hodgkinson created the perfect finishing look for Rosanna with a relaxed ‘up do’ and natural make up. Gorgeous! (Stephen was blown away when he saw his beautiful bride, you can see his very emotional reaction here…..just lovely!)

Rosanna carried a hand tied bouquet of summer blooms with her maids’ carrying simple, single stems of blowsy Hydrangea.

Kirsty and Martin

The last time I visited Cockliffe Country House Hotel it was in deep mid winter, so it was a joy to return in the height of the summer. It’s always great to see the changing face of a venue during the different seasons. Cockliffe is a real gem. Reminiscent of a French Chateaux, this 17th Century former farmhouse sits in secluded splendour, at the end of a shady, wooded lane, far away from the hustle and bustle of life! A perfect choice for Kirsty and Martin’s relaxed summer wedding.wedding-nottingham-robertsail-8

The eve of the wedding was a late finish for me, forty white roses were suspended from the beams in the old barn ready for the following day’s celebrations.  These had been a last minute request from Kirsty, to give her wedding a unique look. They certainly did, as these photos show! I must admit I was thrilled to see Robert from Robert Sale Photography when I arrived early on the morning of the wedding…I just knew I would get some fantastic images from him to share with you. (We have worked together on a number of weddings and he never fails to impress).

All that was needed to complete the look were a few perfect white blooms.wedding-nottingham-robertsail-1 (1)A large and flowing centrepiece took centre stage on the ceremony table for the duration of the wedding service, before being moved to take pride of place on the top table for the wedding breakfast.wedding-nottingham-robertsail-13

Kirsty wore a beautiful Maggie Sottero beaded gown, and carried a mix of beautiful summer blooms. Perfect, blowsy and scented ‘Alabaster’ garden Roses, Astrantia, Astilbe and Scabiosa were teamed with the ‘flower of the moment’..Dahlia.

Melissa and Anthony

Another beautiful wedding to share with you today.

This was an extra special wedding, simply, because Melissa, is the lovely daughter of a friend of mine. Melissa married Anthony, at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Hucknall on July 2nd and celebrated afterwards with family and friends at Linby and Papplewick Village Hall.

Melissa arrived at the church in true fairy tale style. The horse drawn glass coach, pulled by two majestic white shire horses, made a for a fabulous sight as it travelled through the streets to it’s destination.

The bride wore a beautiful dress from James Bride in Nottingham and carried a pretty, hand tied bouquet of roses, berries and foliage. The bouquets and centrepieces were all in a soft palette of lilac, blush pink and Ivory to co ordinate with the pale lilac of the maids’ full length dresses….and….let’s not forget the lovely flower girl, dressed in white, she carried a hand made flower wand to compliment the bouquets.

Melissa, along with family and friends had been extremely busy on the eve of the wedding, transforming The Village Hall in readiness for the wedding celebrations.

The hall looked fabulous when I arrived on the big day to deliver the tall centrepieces. Each table was dressed with a large martini glass full to overflowing with blooms and pearls. Large mirror tiles and tealights in ‘vintage’ silverware finished them all off to perfection.

Roz and Jamie

Wow! I’ve been dying to share these fabulous images with you.

Jo at soar photo has really captured the fun loving, happy, spirit of this great couple.

Roz and Jamie were married at The Nottingham Council House back in May. Roz looked amazing in her 1950’s inspired dress, (I’m loving the blue corset)! Jamie looked very dapper in a navy blue suit and floral cravat. They look as if they’ve just stepped out of an old movie! Beautiful.

Bright Orange Gerbera,  paired with beautiful red roses made for an eye catching bridal bouquet.

After the ceremony and a photo call in the Arboretum, the happy couple and their guests boarded a big red ‘vintage’ bus to travel to The Brit club for a ‘rave of a celebration!!
