Emma and Craig

The most fantastic vintage inspired wedding of Emma and Craig from last summer.

With only a short period of time before her wedding day, Emma contacted me with a request for two large suspended floral arrangements to be hung in the most amazing barn conversion where she was to marry Craig.

The venue was to be the stunnning Hazel Gap Barn, a relatively new wedding venue on the outskirts of Sherwood Forest.

As you can see from these fabulous images, by the extremely talented  Becky Ryan Photography, Emma and Craig had an amazing vintage inspired day.

Emma was a real pleasure to work with, and although we didn’t get to meet each other until the day before the wedding, (everything was discussed over the phone and via email) she felt confident enough to allow me a free hand in creating her dream.

In her own words she ”was unsure of what exactly she wanted, other than lots of foliage and a few flowers and could you just create something natural and rustic?’

Floral designers, just love to hear those words, and so with a budget set, I was able to create two of the largest suspended arrangements that I have made to date.

They did look amazing and added a real WOW to the barn.

Here are a fabulous couple ‘oozing’  style. I think you’ll agree that Emma really rocks the vintage look and looks stunning…and….Craig sure wears a kilt well!

What a day, filled with so much fun, vintage cars, smoke bombs, sparklers and a cailidh,

Catherine and David

Another stunner!! Cool ice blue and white flowers for Catherine and David’s July wedding last summer. They weren’t to know it…but…the day turned out  to be an absolute scorcher!! The flowers lent a cool elegance to the whole day.Catherine n David 230716The day started early, with the delivery of bouquets to Catherine, spending the morning at her mum’s home in Mapperley. Ashleigh Turner was already there, when I arrived, creating a fabulous, soft ‘up do’ for the beautiful, happy and relaxed bride.CatherineDave0080aaaaaThen…a short drive in to Nottingham City Centre where David, was eagerly awaiting the delivery of the buttonholes at the St. James’s Hotel,  before he and his men took a leisurely walk up to the magnificent Cathedral of St. Barnabas.

Finally, a picturesque drive over to the little village of Sutton Bonington to dress Sutton Bonington Hall, another new and undiscovered venue for me. The Hall, a Grade 2 Queen Anne Country property, sits in the heart of this quaint village surrounded by a superb landscaped garden (ideal for those all important photo opportunities). Just the perfect choice for this lovely couple.Catherine and David Sutton-Bonington-Hall-wedding-photographer-34Catherine wore a beautiful Ronald Joyce dress from 7th Heaven Bridal and carried a stunning bouquet of white and ice blue cottage garden flowers.CatherineDave0784CatherineDave0795CatherineDave0797Catherine and David Sutton-Bonington-Hall-wedding-photographer-63Centrepieces of pure white blowsy Hydrangeas in large glass cubes, were all that were needed to add a simple elegant statement to the wedding breakfast.CatherineDave0493CatherineDave0488CatherineDave0462Catherine and David sutton-bonington-hall-wedding-photography_0108David and Catherine Sutton BoningtonHallThank you to Mr and Mrs Cawley,  J.S.Coates and Roo Stain for sharing stunning images of a most memorable day.

Rosanna and Steven

The beautiful and quaint Country Cottage Hotel in Ruddington was the ideal setting for Rosanna and Steven’s relaxed wedding celebrations in July.

Stunning memories of their special day, beautifully captured by the very talented Kathryn Edwards, Thank you!

This fabulous, fun loving couple wanted to ‘bring the outside in’, as a reflection of their love of the great outdoors and to echo the secluded garden that nestles behind The Country Cottage Hotel. Enamel jugs and jam jars all dressed with lace, and full to overflowing with pretty delicate blooms, certainly brought an essence of the quintessential summer garden to the celebrations.

The bride wore a beautiful Kenneth Winston lace gown from Dream Wedding Dress in Nottingham and Nicola Hodgkinson created the perfect finishing look for Rosanna with a relaxed ‘up do’ and natural make up. Gorgeous! (Stephen was blown away when he saw his beautiful bride, you can see his very emotional reaction here…..just lovely!)

Rosanna carried a hand tied bouquet of summer blooms with her maids’ carrying simple, single stems of blowsy Hydrangea.

Roz and Jamie

Wow! I’ve been dying to share these fabulous images with you.

Jo at soar photo has really captured the fun loving, happy, spirit of this great couple.

Roz and Jamie were married at The Nottingham Council House back in May. Roz looked amazing in her 1950’s inspired dress, (I’m loving the blue corset)! Jamie looked very dapper in a navy blue suit and floral cravat. They look as if they’ve just stepped out of an old movie! Beautiful.

Bright Orange Gerbera,  paired with beautiful red roses made for an eye catching bridal bouquet.

After the ceremony and a photo call in the Arboretum, the happy couple and their guests boarded a big red ‘vintage’ bus to travel to The Brit club for a ‘rave of a celebration!!

Katie and Tiff

It was a fabulous, sunny day for a return trip to Mansfield Manor for the wedding of Katie and Tiff. Two beautiful brides whose personalities shone through in their choice of flowers and dresses. Katie carried a perfect, scented bouquet of Peonies, Roses, and Astilbe  to complement her beautiful full length, lacy gown.12773382_10153310824376363_149329289_oTiff requested lots of foliage and small, pretty flowers to add her own fun style to match her 1950’s inspired dress and amazing pink shoes!  To bring the two styles together delicate spray roses were used in both bouquets, and a trio of roses were pinned into Tiff’s casual ‘up-do’.

Jugs, jars and birdcages full of pretty pastel coloured blooms and Gypsophila,  added a real touch of vintage romance inside the Manor. Tiff’s mum had added her own hand crocheted covers to each jar, so pretty!12789736_10153310824446363_665303748_o‘Lilly’ the vintage VW camper van, not only gave the guests a memorable trip to the venue, she also added a classic backdrop for some fabulous, fun filled photos. (Loving the one above).  Mark Walker,  Katie and Tiff’s wedding photographer loved using ‘Lilly’ as a great prop, he likened it to ‘positioning a toy’ to give a great photo opportunity. Not that Mansfield Manor is short of it’s own superb spaces for that perfect picture.12767981_10153310826036363_622948309_o (1)
